Hip Fox

Hi there crafty friends!

Thought I'd pop in and share this fun, cool card I made, using the sweet little fox from the Hipster Pets stamp set.

Before I get to the card, be sure to check out the Some Odd Girl 5th Birthday fun over at the blog!

I cut some orange patterned paper on angles, and adhered them all down, some popped up on dimensional adhesive, some flat on the card-base.  I thought it would be fun to play around with the dimension.

I coloured the fox in with my prismacolour pencils for a nice soft effect.

Hope you like this!

More copic colouring

Hey there

I just can't seem to get enough of colouring in these days, so I'm running with it!

I recently bought a new printer, for a grand total of FIFTEEN dollars (thank you back-to-school specials woot!) and oh my word it's a gem. Its a little Canon, and honestly, it does a better job than my more-hundreds-of-dollars-than-I-care-to-remember HP printer that I bought about 5 years ago. So far ZERO problems. Prints quickly and cleanly. I'm in love.

ANyway, due to the aforementioned dreamboat printer, I'm all about the digis this past couple of weeks. Tiddly Inks have always been a favourite of mine, so I had a peek around their store last week and holy moly what a load of GOODNESS.

You should check them out immediately.

Anyway. onto the card.

For this card I used the Hanging Around Gwyn image, which is adorable. For the clouds I used Balzer Designs stencil, and the sentiment is Mama Elephant Up and Away, papers are from an 8x8 paper pad by Merci.

Hope you like it!

See you again soon.

Saturated Canary and Simon Says Stamp: Hello Beautiful

Hello Hello!

I've been doing some more colouring so I thought I'd share what I made out of that colouring!

I used two of the images from the Saturated Canary New Year's 2015 Special Bundle, and overlapped them a little, cause I loved the idea of there being three friends instead of two.

I used two stamps from Simon Says Stamp for the sentiment.

I'm so happy with the hair on this card. Next I have to work on my clothing!

See you soon!

Small Stamps: Challenge Time at A Blog Named Hero.

Hi there!

It's time for our first challenge of the year over at A Blog Named Hero, so I thought I'd drop in here to show you my project.

This month we're challenging our readers to use those oft-forgotten teeny little stamps that are in sets--flowers, hearts, stars etc.

http://www.ablognamedhero.blogspot.com.au/

Here is my card:

I used the TEENY little leaf-cluster image from an older Hero Arts Set (CL497) and I repeatedly stamped it in gradually darkening colours of Hero Arts Shadow Inks.

I then added a little scoring using my scoreboard, to give an extra hint of interest, without taking away from the original pattern I'd stamped.

I stamped the great Crafty Friends stamp onto some neenah white cardstock, and used that as a sentiment panel.

To finish off, I mounted this all onto a Hero Arts Midnight Notecard and added some enamel dots from My Minds Eye.

Nice and simple but I love the effect! I should score through my cards more often, I love how it looks. Just enough added detail without going over the top.

Copic Colour-fest

Greetings from Hades! (Well it's as hot as Hades here today so it might as well be!)

I was lucky enough to get a HUGE pile of Copic markers for Christmas and my birthday, which just passed, so I've been in a copic colouring-haze. I just can't seem to get enough colouring time!

While I'm in such a mood, I thought I'd colour up this divine image from Saturated Canary (which, incidentally is offering an amazing New Year's Bundle that you need to get your hands on.

Here's my card:

I love love love love LOVE this image, so I wanted the card to stay simple and clean.

happy happy. That skirt gave me fits, but I'm really pleased with the hair. I've been taking a class at Kit and Clowder, and boy does Alyce know what she's doing. I can't wait to improve more.

See you again soon!

Where did December Go and Happy New Year!

Hi Crafty Friends!

WOW, where in the  heck did December go?! (As a matter of fact, where did 2014 go? I swear it's going by faster and faster!)

A few fun things today.  We're back for another year of fun and inspiration at A Blog Named Hero, and we've just blogged a post introducing some of the new changes for 2015, as well as the new Design Team, who you will meet over the next week.  I have a fun card over there too, which you might want to check out.

Now, I'm also sharing a card with you this time, because I'm applying for the DT of Mi Ran Jung--she is THE most incredible artist and it would truly be such a COOL dream come true to be on her DT. Her images are the bomb and I'm so in love with them.

As a part of my application, I need to answer a few questions that some of you (if you come here often!) will already know, so bear with me!

Why I'd like to be on the team:
Well honestly, I love the style of the images, they're reminiscent of Manga, which I have always loved, but I think they're a little more feminine than traditional style. Every time I see a Art by MiRan image, I get the urge to colour it, so it's pretty much perfect in my opinion! Everything I look for in an image.

I also love that the images are digi, which is something I've been working with more and more. I love that you can make the image sizes change, overlap them, change them around a little, and really make them work for your specific project.

Plus (and I don't want to sound like a fangirl here but...) Mi Ran seems LOVELY and I'd just love the opportunity to work with her! (I'm using the word 'love' a lot in this post aren't I...)

OK! The next bit...

Current Design Teams:
I'm on the Design Team (as well as running the entire operation with my lovely friend Lisa), A Blog Named Hero, I'm on the Some Odd Girl team until the end of March (sniff!) and I'll be finishing up with Scrappy Canary Design Team at the end of January (but my projects are already finished). Sad about those two ending but I'm focusing on how fun and supportive they've been!

Here is the card I made for the DT call

I printed out the Winter Sofia image (isn't she pretty?!), and set about colouring her using my Copic Markers.
Then I trimmed the panel down to size, and distressed the edges. I added a little Zig Wink of Stella glitter pen, to the snowflakes for a little extra sparkle--I hope you can see it in the next photo.

I then set that image aside, and set to work making my background. I took a piece of Tim Holtz Watercolour cardstock, and using Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Picked Raspberries), and created the background by squishing the inks onto my work surface, spritzing with water and laying the cardstock in the ink-puddle. I then heatset, and added some falling snow using Embossing paste by Wendy Vecchi and a Simon Says Stamp stencil.

I added a touch of Stickles to the edge of that panel, before adhering it all down to a Doll Pink piece of cardstock from Simon Says Stamp, which finished off the card.

I'm really happy with how she turned out!

Such a beautiful image and so fun to colour!

I hope you like it too! Fingers crossed for my application!

Thank you Mi Ran for your consideration!

See you again soon!
